MCMC convergence in Athens

The Parthenon

On September 14-15, I am attending a (closed) workshop at the Athens (I mean AΘńνα, Greece, not Athens, Georgia!) University of Economics and Business, on MCMC convergence and estimation. I will give a survey talk on ABC methods—not very different from my Montpellier symposium—, detailing the bases of the method and discussing both extensions we worked on lately. The program is very loose, with only two talks in the morning and two in the afternoon, in order to leave a lot of time for the discussion, and this is quite a nice idea given the small number of participants.

Ps-Arriving in Athens is a bit of a challenge in that one must remember quickly one’s Greek alphabet in order not to miss the bus stop!
