Museum of Modern Art, Beaubourg [2]

F
irst Sunday of the month, again! My daughter once again dragged me out for a two-hour trip to Centre Pompidou, the Paris Museum of Modern Art, skipping this time the contemporary art collections and visiting instead the (older!) modern art floor. I was somehow more disappointed by this floor than by the one below, despite the presence of many classics, either because I was in a hurry to get back (!) or because I had seen those many times.

A painter I had somehow underrated is Sonia Delaunay, as I discovered a much wider spectrum than the sheer cubism I associated her with. I did not either remember the room with those Giacometti’s paintings

However, my daughter enjoyed the collection very much and in particular she liked the numerous entries about Le Corbusier, whose works she is studying, so this was a profitable afternoon!
