Almost, Bayes (?) can

An “Obama-like-yes-we-can!” poster I made for my ABC talk…  This is not worth much commenting, except that, since Obamicon.me was not available for registration, I had to use a screenshot software to extract the above image of someone generally presumed to be Thomas Bayes, and reproduced ad nauseam in most Bayesian sites and talks (incl. mines), although this attribution actually is rather unlikely. For travelling reasons, I had to leave Bayes-250 early on Wednesday morn, which means I only attended Christophe Andrieu’s talk. He exposed some of his recent work on approximated acceptance probabilities in MCMC algorithms, a research direction I find absolutely fascinating!
