Sydney snapshots

Yesterday night, I arrived from Adelaide, fairly exhausted by a very limited sleep pattern since my arrival in Australia. However, I found the garden house I had rented through airbnb near Bondi Junction (if not Bondi Beach!) very pleasant and quiet, and so had a great night, did two laps of Centennial Park (trying to stay away from the hordes of cyclists), found an organic grocery nearby for breakfast, and set to explore central Sydney this afternoon.

It was a clear and balmy day (!), warm enough to walk the bridge in shorts and tee-shirt! While I found the immediate neighbourhood of the opera house and of the bridge too crowded and touristy for my taste, I definitely enjoyed the high rises of downtown Sydney, as well as the more colonial (and older) architecture of the eastern districts (walking back along Oxford St.). And the clues of a thriving diverse street life. A very enjoyable city (at least in the winter, when the temperature does not get too high for me!)
