Patrick Edlinger passed away yesterday: he was a major climbing figure in the 1980’s, achieving some of the first 8a’s and 8b’s, as well as 7a solo climbs in the Verdon Gorges in southern France. He thus follows the tracks of his climbing partner, Patrick Berhault, who died from a fall above Saas Fee in the Alps in 2004. May they find new routes in the ethereal mountains they now roam…
