Versailles lights

DSC_5476On Saturday night, we went with Jim Hobert to the watershow in Versailles. Although we had seen it already, I enjoyed the show even more this time as it was later in the Summer and hence darker: darkness produced a more dramatic effect on the fountains suddenly appearing around the corner or imperfectly perceived through the trees. Getting a glance through the well-lit castle windows was an additional treat. In addition to the lightning of the waterworks, the show also included sculptures around the theme of rocks and trees, some of which were quite remarkable. Even though I am not a big fan of fireworks, since they are essentially a pollution, the final firework show seen from the top of the basin network was quite spectacular as night had completely set by then.
