Young Americans

David Bowie’s passing away earlier this week reminded me that the very first LP I bought was his Young Americans album. In 1975. An album that I played obsessively for months, with its daunting saxophone themes. And two songs with John Lennon playing the guitar, including a reprise of Across the Universe. A magnificent illustration of Bowie’s artistic genius.
