I heard this song from David Bowie’s 1975 album on the [national public] radio the other day and it reminded me this was one of the first LPs I bought… and played till it was no longer audible.

David Bowie’s passing away earlier this week reminded me that the very first LP I bought was his Young Americans album. In 1975. An album that I played obsessively for months, with its daunting saxophone themes. And two songs with John Lennon playing the guitar, including a reprise of Across the Universe. A magnificent illustration of Bowie’s artistic genius.
