Mark Berliner, from Ohio State University, will give the first ISBA webinar on November 16th, 2012, 12:00 PM EST (or US Atlantic Coast time) through 1:30 PM.The topic is Bayesian Mechanistic-Statistical Modeling with Examples in Geophysical Settings and this webinar is free to both members and non-members of ISBA, but to participate in the webinar, please complete the registration form before 5:00pm EST on November 15, 2012. Registrered participants will receive an email with instructions on how to connect to the webinar prior to the event. (In case you can, please make a voluntary contribution to the Pilar Iglesias Travel Award fund.  This award provides support to graduate students and young researchers from developing countries to attend ISBA meetings.) Thanks to Kate Calder and Merlise Clyde for organising this grand première and to Mark for agreeing to give this webinar. I hope this idea of organising webinars will spread out to the community as a way to save on travelling and reaching out much, much more (assuming the system can handle many participants).
