Position in Warwick

A fairly attractive position in Warwick (40 hours teaching, wow!):

The University of Warwick has recently decided to initiate a rolling programme of 3-year fixed-term appointments in the Department of Statistics, named in honour of Jeff Harrison, the founding chair of Statistics. It is intended to make one such appointment each year.

These appointments will be suitable for outstanding early career academics in Statistics (to be interpreted in the widest sense and to include both applied and methodological statistics, probability, probabilistic operational research and mathematical finance together with interdisciplinary topics involving these areas) who wish to work in this large, vibrant and highly successful department.

The appointment is intended for applicants with evidence or promise of world-class research excellence and thus carries a low teaching load (50% of a normal teaching load equating to 40-45 hours of lectures p.a.). The salary will be on the Assistant Professor scale (currently £36,532-£43,622 p.a.).

The first appointment will be available from April 2010 (the start date will be negotiable with the successful applicant).
